Shackled to the Shadow: Scorpio Lunar Eclipse (May 5)

If it’s true we are multidimensional beings, then the Scorpio Lunar Eclipse (or the Cycle 8 Full Moon Eclipse) reveals where  there may be a piece of us out there that’s trapped in darkness, succumbing to The Nothing of the Neverending Story or confined on Camazotz (A Wrinkle in Time).

Darkness can mean many things - a lack of conscious awareness of something key (a piece of information; a part of our personality) or perhaps an energetic prison where we hold ourselves (or another) hostage to lower vibrational states (jealousy, hate, resentment, anger, lack of forgiveness).

The Scorpio Lunar Eclipse speaks to the revisiting (conjunct the south node of our karmic past (aka our trauma bonds and bondage to the darkness) to release old struggles and fear, to let go out the bad stuff that has happened to us, so that we in turn dont go bad because of it.

Scorpio carves out the cancer cell or nukes it, it kills the spread of black mold, it cuts out the bad part of the apple before it gets to the core and ruins the chance of making a tasty pie.

Lunar eclipses coincide with emotional revelations that illuminate how we feel, what we are attached to and where we may be hurting ourselves - this time, by keeping ourself shackled in the shadows.

We cannot forget what has befallen us. We cannot wipe from our minds what and who we have lost. We cannot cancel out the violations and betrayals and abuse.

But we don’t need to hold it as a part of our identity.

For as survivors, we have stripped ourselves and already risen above what threatened to pull us down.

Why climb back into the pit you already escaped from?

We all need a confidence boost now and this eclipse can remind us of what we have survived and the strength we must have had, to have endured and be able to even sit here and read these words. Give yourself a momentary psychic salute for that.

Slow Suicides aren’t talked about much but they are on the rise, the “silent quitting” of the new generations, the giving up that no one really notices, the ‘why bother, the world is ending’ mindset or the destructive choices that slowly erode our body or mind. One word is ending, it is true. The structures are disassembling (the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn heralded that)  but as the name of this website reflects (and chosen for this specific reason) a new world is being brought into being. We may not see the builders, blueprints and the scaffolding may not be obvious but the dismantling of the old structures is already changing the landscape (and Pluto in Aquarius will continue to usher in sweeping social reform).

The authorities had the power. Now the collective, the community does.

The global family.  Think Flash mobs, riots, street-takeovers, mass protests and walk-outs and you’ll see the potential power of people en-masse.

On the world stage, we are likely to see more intense weather patterns and events that pull us to revisit past trauma triggers as well as revelations of buried secrets and hidden information and agendas. Expect another major purge and potentially the passing of a key public figure, as Lunar Eclipses can herald a parting of the ways.

The lunar eclipse suggest we reframe our dark past, reclaim the power we felt we lost or gave away or had taken from us, to refocus on our present potentials and power, and to stoke an inner light that has not been extinguished, allowing it to blaze even brighter.
