Commitment to the Climb: Cycle 10 (Dec 23)

This is the real NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION window. Set your intentions under this Moon, and make one step towards it. Waiting til Jan 1, and you miss out on this powerful period. Plans and ambitions brewed up during the next week (and into week after), have the added dynamic of bountiful Jupiter in firecracker Aries to give them a mighty launch. This is less of a nudge and more of a neon sign. Your advancement starts here if you are willing to Just Go.

How do you complete something if you keep picking at it, thereby ensuring it’s never full finished?

Achievement involves one part nervy-willingness-to-take-a-risk, choosing brave beginnings over stagnated stalling. Flamboyant behavior or negative attention-grabbing doesn’t help professional reputations but it can get you noticed by Higher Ups. Selfish, bratty behavior is unbecoming for someone in a leadership position. Too much red tape ruins spontaneous self expression. Over-zealous self-confidence (and rash impulsive moves) trip up even the best laid plans.

Boredom at the worst time - just when you need to focus to bring it home. What will ensure you maintain control over your desire to quit too soon?

This Moon is about the ‘emotional illumination’ that not only comes with successful attainment of a goal but that actually inspires its unfolding.

Our Great Work is woven in many daily strands, even quietly in the background when bigger things take center stage. Our Great Work could be a tangible thing others get to see, touch, taste, hear or smell? Our Great Work could be the patient resilience in raising a child. Our Great Work could be our very survival.

Our Great Work could be an open heart and childlike spirit, no matter what.

Act with Purpose.

Our legacy is tied to what we do while here, that ultimately outlasts us and also includes what we didn’t and don’t do - the choices we didn’t or don’t seek to satisfy. This, ‘failure to achieve’ in some areas is instrumental in the ultimate success in others. Choose wisely what to reject along the road.

This new moon reminds us how long the road has been, how far we have come and how much more there is ahead of us - or else, a realization of limitation.

If we feel tired and unable or unwilling to keep going, the square from Jupiter in Aries is the spark (of annoyance, if nothing else) that rekindles the burning fires of commitment. If we have become less confident with time and age, the square offers an incentive to just doing it, instead of methodical planning and controlling the course of events. Sometimes, the only way to gain confidence is to just act now, and think later. Jupiter in Cycle 1 is like a dare issued - where will you show faith and allegiance with a bold move?

This alignment suggests it’s never too late to try our hand at something. Excuses play no part in the momentum towards mastery. Your great work, your main objective, your planned end-point, needs one thing above all else. It needs You. Commiting to a goal, means constant commitment to yourself. That perhaps is the greatest challenge- to show up when the internal or outside weather stinks. When it seems our hand is unable to change the course of events, To deliver what is required when it is needed.

Use the Jupiter square to summon up the energy, courage, balls, bravado or gall to push past intertia or insecurity for a massive leap forward.

When we are fired up, our enthusiasm is contagious, attracting the energetic attention of those cooperative components to our plan.

Even if faith is lagging and hope is thin, clear and committed effort can lead to great places.

A little too much of one thing and too little of something else can ruin a cake and so too with the Jupiter square - we want to go for a bold, zest not smothering spice.

“It’s never crowded along the extra mile” (Dyer) and it’s there that you’ll find some magic - going that little bit further, adding cream and a cherry, ensuring that, on your watch at least, it gets done properly, handles quiet and classy, with the patient persistence of the professional.

Grabbing attention or making a big to-do of something could help your cause, or mess up focus. Success that is already unfolding and nothing to do with us, could suddenly involve us if we make a bid to get involved, wherever we see an opening or are moved to engage with the energy.

Fortune favors the bold, and the cautious miss higher-hanging fruit worth the climb.
